Tapper roller bearings are separable. The modified line contact between rollers and raceways eliminates edge stressing. Thrust loads are absorbed in one direction only. Loads acting in the outer direction are absorbed by an opposed tapered roller bearing. Bearing applications for tapered roller bearings must be carefully aligned. The permissible angular deflection from the central possition should not be more than 2° with series 320, 302, 303, 322, 323, the optimum load transmission starts with the load ratio and changes affect the internal clearance thus the distance between the two bearings should be kept small. The internal clearance is adjusted by mounting the bearing in opposition to each other.
